When the owners of the likes of Canteen, Red Ox Inn and the Wired Cup contracted us to build another gathering space to enjoy tasty food, we got right to work.
Project Goals
Taking over an existing cafe space, the tenant improvements included a lot of demolition before we could start to build their vision which included relocating the washrooms and creating a better flow for a full kitchen and sit down restaurant.
Retrofit’s Role
As the General Contractor, we are also responsible for managing sub-trades and the City involvement with permits and inspections. Staying on top of the changing requirements and codes to ensure the smoothest transactions can prove challenging in some builds and this one proved no exception.
Project Highlights
The vision the owners had, together with the design work of Josh of Studio Roslyn, gives this space the coolest coziest retro vibes. From the warm wood tones and cork ceiling, the linen feature lighting to the soft corduroy upholstery and the nostalgic feel of the carpet, this local eatery is definitely worth checking out!
